Miniature fairies in 1:12 scale, created by professional artist and doll sculptor, Christy. Each porcelain doll, scaled perfectly in traditional dollhouse scale, of one-twelfth the size of real life, or one inch to the foot, is individually hand-painted, dressed and fired numerous times to achieve the professional finish that makes these collectibles stunningly exquisite. Christy's original designs will each be made in very limited editions or for no longer than a twelve month time period. Once the edition has reached its limit, she no longer makes any dolls from that particular design. The dolls are very special, very unique and truly one-of-a-kind miniatures to cherish.
A Certificate of Authenticity from Christy is included with each and every one of her creations.

All About Christy...The Artist and Creator of these Beautifully Detailed Fabulous Fairies...
All of Christy’s Miniature Porcelain dolls are sold as limited edition or one of kind art dolls. Since every miniature porcelain doll is hand made by Christy one at a time in her studio there are always slight variations in each of her creations. It could be said that no two dolls are exactly the same and that they really are all one of a kind.
Each doll takes days to produce since there are so many stages in making porcelain dolls. Starting with hand casting the raw porcelain dolls and multiple firing and cleaning steps to achieve the best porcelain doll. Each doll is then china painted with a single hairbrush and fired, then repainted and fired again until the fine details are perfect. After the porcelain doll is completed and assembled Christy designs the most unusual costumes, hair, paint and accessories for a truly unique one of a kind doll. Christy uses a number of different art doll molds some from renowned art doll artists and some are cast from her own sculptures. Christy also hand sculpts original works from polymer clay to create Fairies, mermaids and fantasy dolls.
Christy is a resident of the Black Hills Of South Dakota but originally from Sunny Southern California. Before she became a fantasy fairy doll maker She had an interest in art since even when she was a young girl she won her first "1st" place award in her first grade School art contest. Music also played a very important role in her early life where she excelled in numerous piano competitions. At 13 she got her first guitar and by 15 bought her first electric guitar and wrote her first song to be published 3 years later. She played music with and attended high school with many talented people one of which went on to become the famous musician James Hetfield of Metallica. In the late 1980's she did many portrait and fantasy oil paintings and even won an award for a 6 foot portrait of Paul McCartney.
In 1992 she and her husband started their own company Butterfly Designs creating many different objects of art that were sold through the wholesale gift industry to companies like, Robert Redford's Sundance Catalog, Walt Disney Corp, Dollywood, TJ Maxx, Cracker Barrel Restaurants & Discovery Channel stores just to name a few. In 2001 Christy began working with porcelain dolls and realized that this was her favorite form of artistic expression.
