Twelfth scale (1:12) dollhouse dolls by imaginative doll sculptor, Gayle Claussen.
The man has recently been sold.
Another one of Gayle's creations (sorry, he's been sold)
Gayle Clausen specializes in creating a doll that possesses real character, and has lots of detail in the expression. Each one tells a story. Gayle states enthusiastically, “Dolls make a room come to life. I like to feel that each one of my dolls tells a story without words!” All of Gayle’s dolls are 1/12th scale (1”=1’), and individually sculpted from polymer clay. Gayle says she prefers working in FIMO® because of its firmness. “When I am working in the clay, and have it in my hands, it actually relaxes me.” She revealed, “Just the kneading of it can be soothing.” Gayle uses mohair for the doll’s hair, and makes the eyes with just a bit of white and a black no-hole bead in the center. With a twinkle in her voice, she added, “Since I make so many older folks, most of my dolls could stand a blephaplasty, i.e., cosmetic eye surgery!”
